World Mission

We are delighted to be part of the world wide church and play a small part in God's mission to the world by our financial and prayerful support of various mission partners. 

Tim and Maggie Gaved are members of Wycliffe Bible Translators working in Senegal to help make God’s word available to the peoples of Senegal, The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau in their own languages.  They have 2 daughters, Ruth and Anna. Ruth is starting at university in London in September 2011, Anna attends a boarding school in Senegal. The Gaveds have been in the UK on home for leave over the summer over 2011 and returned to Senegal in September. Link people – Alison and Lionel Mackay


Michael Green
is working in the Middle East as a Nurse at the An-Noor Sanatorium in Mafraq. Mafraq is about 50 miles to the north from the Jordanian capital, near the Syrian border, with roughly 59,000 inhabitants. The posting will give Michael opportunity to continue his nursing skills including work with people with learning disabilities, and to build up long term relationships with chronically ill patients and their families. There will also be opportunities for community work and teaching. Link person Margaret Phillips.


Steve and Sherree Francis work for SIM - Serving in Mission in Thailand.  
Steve works as the C-SEA (Central and South East Asia) treasurer,overseeing SIM’s finances in 5 different countries and around 110 missionaries. Sherree helps part-time in the office, and continues to major on Thai language study and building relationships.
We plan to be in the UK for Home Assignment from August to October 2012 (in time for the Olympics!)Link person – Sarah Hancock. 

June Leach is serving with SIM at 'Le Centre de Santé et Léprologie (CSL)', Danja, Niger, West Africa. This term her focuses are concerned with coordination and support of visitors and short term missionaries to Danja; care of and upgrading empty mission housing and facilities, Guest House facilities; continuing assistance with administrative duties including translation of documents and reports English to French and visa versa); liaison with the RIBA sewing project promoting sales of items made. We also pray for Joel and Fiona Hafvenstein currently working for Tearfund and based in the UK.


We also support Christian Solidarity worldwide which works on behalf of the persecuted church
