Children and Families

We are delighted to welcome children of all ages to St. John's.

On Sundays there are children’s activities in the church buildings for part of the service for children from the age of 3. We meet in age groups and learn about Jesus in different ways. The younger children learn through play, craft and stories while older children often use drama, games and creative activities. We have a regular group of leaders and parents are welcome to come and see what we do, or stay with children while they settle.

Babies and toddlers are welcome to stay with parents or can be cared for in our friendly crèche.

Sometimes children and adults share together with worship we that can all join in.

During the week we have toddler groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time, from 9.30-11.30am. It’s a good chance for children to play and parents and carers to meet (and we always have nice biscuits).

Children in school years 3-6 are welcome to EFC (Explorers Friday Club) on alternate Friday evenings 6.45 - 8pm (see diary) in the church hall.

We have fun with crafts, games, football and a short Bible message and it’s a good chance to mix with children in the same age group.
