Welcome! 

Perhaps you have already made a visit to St. John’s or are thinking about it?

We want to help you feel at home from the very start and you may already have met a member of our Welcome Team or one of the other leaders. To help us get to know you, please fill out a Getting Connected card that you will find in the backs of the chairs, alternatively you could email the office. If you fill out that card one of the staff team will give you a call and arrange to come round and talk with you with St. John’s.

We think that St. John’s is a friendly place, but more than that we want it to be a place where you can make friends!

Many people have found it a real help to take part in the Start! course at the beginning of their relationship with St. John’s.  Start! is a 7 session course that begins with reflecting on our own experiences in our lives so far, and introduces us to what the bible says about God and His Son Jesus Christ. You can find out how it is possible to grow in faith and develop a relationship with Him. We talk about prayer, bible study, worship and the church. If you are interested please contact the office.

Nearly half of the adults at St. John’s are members of small groups. These groups meet fortnighty in the daytime or evening and whilst each has its own flavour all combine bible focused discussions, prayer and support for one another. They are a great way to make friends and discover how you might serve in the church.

We believe that everyone has God given talents and abilities and God wants us to us those to be a blessing to others in our homes, work places and through the ministry of the church to build God’s kingdom. There are a huge variety of ways that you can get involved with the life of the church: ranging from helping cook for our weekly lunch club, being part of the children’s and youth work, running the PA or projector for our Sunday worship – and countless others! Getting involved with a ministry area could be another way to help you feel that you belong because as you serve you will be getting to know others who are working alongside you.
